My work is a journey into the soul of a Latina woman, born in Puerto Rico to exiled Cuban parents, looking to identify the various layers that define a woman in an ever-changing society. Through my work I seek to explore and celebrate the female form and its sensorial experiences to create a dialogue of strength and empowerment, stressing the physical sensuality of the female body and its psychological value within its context. I make art with the sole intention of branding the space it will inhabit to tell a story of the power of female sensuality that can nourish the soul of our life experiences. My artwork aims to create an exploration of the cultural realities of a Latino-American woman using an underlying abstract structure in which the viewer dissolves into the space presented becoming an involved participant of the figurative abstract world at sight.
